Non-destructive testing (NDT) allows our trained Technicians test your material to evaluate the properties and components without causing damage.

Our Non-destructive testing Division offers the following NDT techniques and services:

  • Dimensional Inspection
  • Visual Inspection
  • Portable Hardness Testing
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection

We follow industry accepted methods and procedures, as well as specific procedures developed by our clients. We also provide guidance to clients who may not be knowledgeable as to which testing procedure best suits their requirements.

Our vast expertise and knowledge in NDT and materials testing means we can select the right techniques and procedures to detect defects and irregularities in your products or equipment. We can ensure that you are compliant with the national and international standards in today’s highly regulated markets and provide Total Quality Assurance.

Dimensional Inspection

Dimensional inspection verifies compliance of manufactured parts, based on the requirements and tolerances established by the customer. Our technicians demonstrate thoroughness by using sophisticated tools and methods to best meet client’s needs.

Let our highly qualified staff perform your inspections and dimensional checks for you.

Visual Inspection

Visual inspection is one of the oldest non-destructive testing (NDT) technique and is the basis for all NDT inspections. To determine the reliability of any part for its intended application, visual inspection is normally the first step in the examination process. Any manufactured part can be visually examined to determine the accuracy of its fabrication.

Visual Testing visually checks components to verify that they meet the applicable code or standard. Prooftest specializes in Visual Inspection process on manufactured parts mainly intended for oil and gas applications

Portable Hardness Testing

Portable Hardness Testing (HT) is a non-destructive testing technique used to evaluate the mechanical properties of materials providing instant hardness values of a material under test, without damage to client’s component. Prooftest is equipped with the latest Portable Hardness Testing Technology to provide clients the information they require about the materials they are manufacturing or using in service. Portable Hardness Testing provides fast and reliable results in today’s fast paced manufacturing environment.

Our team of highly trained inspectors specialize in testing:

  • Piping and fittings
  • Forgings and castings
  • New manufactured parts
  • Weld and HAZ (Heat Affected Zone)
  • Components after heat treatment
  • Failed materials as part of metallurgical investigations

Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT)

Competently conducting MPI of ferromagnetic materials to the highest standards of quality and excellence
Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI or MT) is a very effective and one of the most widely used non-destructive testing method for location of both surface and near sub-subsurface defects on ferromagnetic materials such as pipe, pipe welds, and manufactured parts, surface breaking and slight sub-surface defects such as cracking, pores, cold lap, and lack of sidewall fusion in welds in magnetic materials. After a magnetic field is introduced into the object, iron fillings are dusted (Dry Powder Method) or sprayed with the carrier (Wet Method) onto the surface to be tested. The fillings will cluster along edges of a flaw to reveal cracks or other defects. Because extensive training is vital to ensure a proper magnetic particle testing, Prooftest provides all technicians with detailed instruction on the implementation of pre-approved MPI techniques and the resulting interpretation. One of the main advantages of magnetic particle inspection is that it can give an immediate indication of defects and discontinuities.

DIVERSIFIED METHODS

Maximizing MPI in conjunction with other non-destructive methods:
  • Dry Powder
  • Contrast Technique
  • Wet Florescent Magnetic

HIGHLY TRAINED TECHNICIANS

After completing many hours of training and following all MPI best practices and standards, our technicians ensure a throughout evaluation and interpretation of indications. Our technicians will guarantee:
  • Proper alignment between magnetic flux and the defect
  • Post-inspection demagnetization as necessary
